I'm working in a new concept for a contest. Is the "Opel/Vauxhall interactive design competition", with the main theme of design the next generation of the Opel Ampera hybrid vehicle.
The target is on near future 2020. Due to this all the contestants are working in the same way than the Opel design center, because, they probably was start working in the same model. Interesting.
I have developed a concept focused in the feasibility, but incorporating some new ideas to improve the energy efficiency. The second generation of the Ampera must be the mos efficient vehicle on their days.
I'm interested in improve aerodynamics appliyng some ideas like wheel coverings, or attention to detailss like frontal grid or the elimination of the rear view mirrors.
With the covering wheels feature, i found an ineresting idea, because the exterior shape comes independent than the wheel size, making possible the installation of special wheels like airless, small diameter, or tall and narrow wheels.
The exterior shape are sinuous, in "Fluid design" theme. Some glasses are installed, because i think is a good idea to reduce the number of parts and the manufacturing complexity of the body. In addition, the glass surfaces could cover with Solar electric generators, or other equipment.
I still working in the concept, now developing a 3D model, and the interior sketches.
I hope i could explain my ideas properly to the jury and the other contestants!
